In Belize, there is no standardized fleet for waste collection. Across the country, waste is collected using various types of vehicles, such as dump trucks, pickups, tractor-trailers, and compactor trucks.
The BSWMA is not directly involved in waste collection. Instead, the municipalities that benefit from the Solid Waste Management Project (SWMP) or their contracted service providers are responsible for waste collection and transporting it to the Transfer Stations.
Residents are encouraged to bag their waste and place it in a covered container. Yard clippings and green waste should be bagged or bundled for easier collection, and tree limbs should be no longer than 4 feet in length.
Waste collection services are offered by the various municipalities throughout Belize.
