National Clean-Up Day 2025
The Belize Solid Waste Management Authority is proud to celebrate the overwhelming success of National Clean-Up Day 2025, held under the inspiring theme “Our Belize Responsibility: Bin It.” This remarkable initiative brought together communities from across the country, uniting Belizeans in the shared mission of protecting our environment and encouraging sustainable waste management practices.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the Honorable Minister Orlando Habet, Minister of Sustainable Development, Climate Change, and Disaster Risk Management, for his unwavering support and advocacy for a clean Belize. A special acknowledgment also goes to Dr. Kenrick Williams, Chief Executive Officer, for his visionary leadership and commitment to sustainable development.
This year’s success would not have been possible without the invaluable contributions of our key partners: Ministry of Sustainable Development and Climate Change the Belize Department of the Environment – DOE the Blue Bond initiative, the Belize Recyclers and Waste Management Association, Oceana Belize Scout Association of Belize all the Town Councils. Your dedication and collaboration have been instrumental in making this event impactful and memorable.
We also commend participants for embracing technology by using the Clean Swell app to record the amount of trash collected. This innovative tool not only helped track the impact of our efforts but also provided valuable data to guide future waste management strategies. Your contributions have made a measurable difference, proving the power of data driven action.
